March 28 2010:
Annual Spring Auction. Be sure to note that there is
a new location for the spring auction at 217 East Main in
Tuckerton, NJ. For more information on the venue, please visit
their website here.
In conjunction with the spring auction, there will also be tailgating
for buy, swap & sell on site and the adjacent restaurant will be open.
April 9 & 10 2010: East Coast Decoy Collectors (ECDC) - Decoy collectors that include members from the Long Island, New Jersey, Delaware Valley, Potomac and Carolina collectors' associations will meet for a buy-sell-swap weekend, rain or shine, April 9th & 10th, 2010 at the Best Western (410-745-3333) in St. Michael's, MD. This weekend includes motel rooms full of old decoys, all for buy-sell-swap, as well as a cookout Saturday evening. The public is welcome and free decoy appraisals are provided. Many take these Motel accommodations as well as ECDC membership ($15 dues) is required to display decoys for sale or swap. Lloyd Johnson, Bay Head, NJ, his finest work, signed and dated 1964. A
rare Lesser Yellowlegs in a preening position and almost identical to
Lot# 1013 in the Christie's sale of the Russell B. Aitkin collection on
Jan. 18, 2003.
The Decoys shown below are from a recent discovery of a Delaware River rig.
